American Folktales and Songs – At the height of the Great Depression two traveling workers find themselves sharing the same camp one frigid night. Alone and without work, they find warmth in the mutual discovery of traditional American folk songs and tall tales. Through music and storytelling, these new friends bring classic folktales from all over America to life! Join us on a great adventure as we travel from sea to shining sea discovering great American legends. When times are tough, what keeps you going?

Recommended ages 5+.

Treasure Island –  Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel Treasure Island is a fantastical tale of pirates, adventure, and buried treasure!  It tells the story of young Jim Hawkins and his perilous search for the buried treasure of the infamous Captain Flint.  Students will meet Long John Silver and his band of marauding pirates, and take an exciting journey across the seven seas.  Throughout this swashbuckling tale, we teach the danger of greed and the importance of helping others.
